The Jonesboro Bark Park Association, in conjunction and cooperation with the city of Jonesboro, is diligently working to develop an off-leash dog park in Craighead Forrest Park.
This planned off-leash park will be a public park, owned and operated by the city of Jonesboro, where people and their dogs can safely play together. It will offer dogs an off-leash area where their owners can enjoy a park-like setting and the opportunity to socialize with other dogs and their owners. Dog Parks are being established all over the United States because they offer a wealth of benefits to dogs, dog owners, and their communities as a whole.
Off-leash dog parks are more than just a place for dogs to run and roam. They are an opportunity for dogs to exercise and socialize safely with other dogs, and they promote responsible dog ownership. They are also an outlet for dog owners to socialize, and they make for a better community by promoting public health and safety.
To develop an off-leash dog park in Craighead Forrest Park, we are seeking to raise funds privately. Our goal is to raise $200,000. The fully developed site will include three separate off-leash areas for small, medium, and large dogs that will include park benches, tables, trash receptacles, and water fountains for dogs and their owners, and several play stations for the dogs. It will also include an open patio area where owners and their leashed dogs can rest before or after using the off-leash area. Restrooms will also be available, as well as off –street parking.
In order to construct this facility we need your help! Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to our project. On the Donations page you will find the different levels of contribution that you can pick, along with what you will receive with that contribution.
